The Las Vegas Market stands out as the leading home furnishings exhibition in the Western United States. Twice each year, the industry showcase welcomes thousands of designers and manufacturers.
Pieces come from a wide range of sectors, including furniture, home décor, bedding, lighting, gifts, and even personal care. Manufacturers display their latest offerings throughout over 5 million square feet of state-of-the-art showroom space.
Spanning 40 floors and three connected buildings, the World Market Center Campus in downtown Las Vegas serves as the venue for both winter and summer Market events. These events herald the trends primed to impact the furniture and home décor sectors.
Released ahead of the Winter 2017 Las Vegas Market, the First Look Companion Guide serves as the official preview to the expansive winter market program. Las Vegas Market boasts a reputation as a popular forum for new product and collection launches. The event’s the First Look Guide provides a streamlined introduction to the emerging style and design trends that are poised to turn heads.
A diverse array of styles, product categories, and price points are always displayed during Las Vegas Market events. The guide consolidates various pieces and concepts into memorable themes that embody the essence of prominent trends.
However, the guide is just one aspect of Las Vegas Market’s broader First Look program. This program presents the season’s on-trend styles via a selection of themed vignettes located at the Grand Plaza courtyard. Additionally, a seminar presentation highlights the best newly-released products.
The 12th annual edition of the First Look Companion Guide features stunning pieces by more than 80 companies. The guide is available online and in print at the Market venue. The following are the four First Look trends unveiled ahead of Las Vegas Market Winter 2017:
Marked by rich, sumptuous tones of blue and green, this vignette features hues that inspire a creative approach to home décor while retaining an air of urban sophistication. This theme is exemplified by Sherwin-William’s Noir color palette.
This palette includes the company’s color of the year, Poised Taupe. The color is an ideal neutral for pairing with jewel tones like the luxurious forest green adorning New Pacific Direct’s stylish Devana chair.
Another piece showcased as part of the Nourishment First Look motif includes an exquisite beaded chandelier in emerald green by La Malaquita. Additionally, VIG Furniture’s Modrest Kingsley is exhibiting a dining table featuring a modern blend of rose gold and modern marble.
This vignette also highlights Las Vegas Market’s varied products. These include “Hawai’i Green Korea,” a verdant and enchanting piece of wall art by Phylum Design, as well as Kala Style’s Angelica Herb, a chlorophyll-enriched, hydrating body soap crafted from Icelandic ingredients.
Inspired by the dreamlike notion of an enchanted evening sky, this elegant vignette features deep, sultry tones brought to life by floral and metallic accents. Midnight Garden features several shades from Benjamin Moore’s 2017 color forecast. The shades selected include the company’s 2017 Color of the Year, Shadow 21117-30, the blue-tinted Gentleman’s Gray 2062-20, and the green-black Salamander 2050.
Midnight Garden highlights the beauty of light and shadow. Accents of glass and shimmering gold capture light and bring out the beauty of darker tones. Featured pieces include the Gabriela glass candelabra by Accent Décor, Safavieh’s Viansa chair in lush Cabernet velvet, and the Bea sofa from TOV Furniture.
This captivating vignette also showcases both realistic and abstract floral motifs in home décor. Selected pieces include Bovi Home’s metal wall art, which resembles a flower with petals of golden mesh; Ren-Wil’s “Decadence,” a colorful hand-painted floral motif on wood; and Christopher Marley’s Pheromone, which transforms preserved carnivorous pitcher plants into an eye-catching home display.
This vignette combines a diverse mix of textures and materials highlighting Las Vegas Market’s impressive selection of furnishings for personal living spaces. These products are organized into “his and her” vignettes on the Grand Plaza courtyard.
Personal Space features on-trend items suitable for both bedrooms and bathrooms, such as the new Owen bathroom console by World’s Away. Marking the company’s entry into the bathroom vanity category, the consul features elegant matte grey fronts, gold-finished legs and door pulls, and an elegant marble countertop.
Also highlighted in the vignette is Adesso Inc’s 65-inch Flex LED wall wash light fixture, featuring a center of brushed steel or antique brass positioned in a marble base; Howard Elliot’s keyhole-shaped Asbury mirror in elegant, glossy white; and the gentle curbed lines of the Barrington metal bed by Fashion Bed Group, featuring an intriguing Silver Bisque multistep finish.
Artist’s Hand presents a vibrant cross-category selection of home furnishings, gifts, and accessories that reflect the growing popularity of artisanal goods. In today’s increasingly fast-paced world, endless digital touchpoints can often leave us feeling overstimulated. The Artist’s Hand vignette encourages buyers to connect with their surroundings on a more personal level.
Highlighted home furnishings include nuLOOM Rugs’ handwoven Aria area rug, which exudes both folkloric and modern charm with its freshly hued floral patterns; Porter International’s hand-carved Bali bed, set apart as a true work of art by its ornate, handcrafted wood headboard; and the sleek steel and copper Sanskrit coffee table by Urbia Furniture.
